Some combinations are just matches made in heaven. Chocolate and peanut butter, bacon and eggs, sandwiches and chips (I stand by my turkey club with Doritos to my death!).
Also, weed and yoga. Why hasn’t that been combined in a business?
It probably has something to do with the fact that it has been illegal. But there might be a new way to combine the two on its way in Denver, and no I don’t mean just getting stoned by yourself and crashing a yoga studio on the sly, trying not to laugh.
Owners of the Utopia All Natural Wellness Spa and Lounge submitted a social consumption application on Wednesday to the city of Denver in hopes of becoming the first “fully licensed, state-legal cannabis spa.” Utopia would offer patrons…
…cannabis infused massages, ganja yoga, and other cannabis-friendly activities to patrons 21 and older, as well as meditation coaching, educational seminars, and patient support and networking groups.
That’s if they get their way…
Cannabis-friendly cooking classes would also be held there. While cannabis is legal in some form in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, Nevada, Massachusetts, Maine, Washington D.C., and soon Vermont, consumption of cannabis outside of the comfort of your home is not allowed in most regions, excluding a few public ordinances.
However, in 2016 the city of Denver passed ballot initiative 300 which allows businesses to apply for permits allowing safe cannabis consumption on their premises, with the exception of places that served alcohol. So you won’t be getting crunk at any bars on your trip to Denver. Not legally, at least.
Denver is really onto something. I hope they succeed, so that it can spread like wildfire throughout the rest of this great nation.
