This hurricane season has been a motherfucker. First Hurricane Harvey ripped through Texas, then Hurricane Irma fucked up basically the entire caribbean, and to be honest, I don’t even need to tell you what Hurricane Maria did to Puerto Rico.
Now, the Caribbean has to brace for another hurricane, Nate.
Technically, at this time, the “hurricane” is really a tropical storm, but it will likely intensify as it makes landfall. Nate is the 16th tropical depression seen this season and according to The Washington Post, i tis likely to become the season’s 14th named storm.
Nate is expected to make landfall along the U.S. Gulf Coast between Louisiana and Florida’s west coast late Sunday as a hurricane. New Orleans, Mobile, Ala., Pensacola, Fla., Apalachicola, Fla., and even Tampa are among the places it could impact impact.
On Wednesday, the National Hurricane Center said:
“The system is forecast to continue strengthening over the Gulf of Mexico and could affect portions of the northern Gulf Coast as a hurricane this weekend, with direct impacts from wind, storm surge, and heavy rainfall. However, it is too early to specify the timing or magnitude of these impacts.”
Here’s hoping that Nate turns out to be a drizzle.
