I thought we were done with sexual assault scandals for a while. Clearly I was dead wrong. Following TONS of sexual assault scandals linked to everyone from Kevin Spacey to C.K. Louis and James Franco, two former employees have spoken out against Ren & Stimpy creator John Kricfalusi.
The former employees said Kricfalusi took them under his wing when they were very young, then started sexually harassing them when they started officially working for him.
The women, one of them being Robyn Byrd told their stories to BuzzFeed.
Byrd, says she started talking to Kricfalusi after sending him a video at the age of 13 in which she spoke about her dream of becoming an animator. Kricfalusi then offered to mentor her, then flew her to LA to become his live-in girlfriend. After, she was hired as in intern for Spumco.
Apparently, their inappropriate relationship was known.
Other Spumco employees told BuzzFeed, Kricfalusi also introduced Byrd to another young girl who wanted to be an animator via AOL. The girls name was Katie Rice.
Rice, claims that Kricfalusi made sexual advance towards her when she was young. Then, after getting offered a job by him at the age of 18, he repeatedly sexually harassed her.
Rice eventually left her job after discovering child porn on Kricfalusi’s computer.
Kricfalusi’s lawyer denied several of the charges to BuzzFeed but said, “For a brief time, 25 years ago, he had a 16-year-old girlfriend.” That girlfriend was Byrd.
