In terms of music streaming, Apple Music had some massive competition as it announced that it would be breaking into that industry. However, as the number slowly start pouring in, it seems that Apple is holding its own when it comes to subscribers. Apple Music announced that in just a months time, it was racked up over 11 million trail subscribers for the streaming service.
Two million of those users have chosen the $14.99 family plan that can be used for six people. Apple’s SVP Eddy Cue told tells USA Today “We’re thrilled with the numbers so far.” As they should be. Apple Music is free for the first three months and will then cost $9.99 a month.
To put things into perspective, Spotify, which has been around for quit some time, had 20 million subscribers in June. Apple Music, which is operational for about a month has over half of that. The trick though, is to see how many of those users will stay once their three month free trail period is over.
