Facebook has dropped a few augmented reality announcements at it’s F8 developer’s conference in California, which many think is a sign that the next iPhone will have AR capabilities.
This isn’t that surprising, since Apple CEO Tim Cook has been pushing AR for years. The next iPhone, which will be the 10th Anniversary iPhone, may be the first to feature a camera with built-in AR.
But it isn’t just hopeful fanboys who expect to see an AR-compatible camera. In his keynote presentation unveiling the major updates coming o Facebook’s camera app, Mark Zuckerberg himself pledged his commitment to a fully integrated AR camera.
“We’re making the camera the first mainstream augmented reality platform,” Zuckerberg said, before showing off some of the cutting-edged AR capabilities. Watch the impressive presentation below.
With the advancements in AR technology, a fully-integrated camera and sensor system seems destined for the next iPhone.
