Rosé? For spring? Groundbreaking.
Look, I’m a little tired of the whole springtime equates to rosé thing. If you truly love rosé, why limited yourself to spring and summer? Then again, I drink iced coffee year round, so I’m not exactly up on the seasonal trends. However, one thing I can definitely get behind is this new frosé ice cream. Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams now offers a Frosé Sorbet (try saying that five times fast) and it sounds fantastic.
The sorbet starts with a fruity Sonoma Valley rosé and adds blackberry jam, lemon zest, and strawberries. Just like wine, this sorbet has other notes as well: hints of watermelon essence, pear, and lemon juice play on the initial ingredients. If you want to pair the boozy dessert with more booze (why wouldn’t you?), Jeni’s recommends “sparkling wine, a shot of tequila, or even more rosé.”
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream has ten independent stores in the United States, but if there’s not one in your city, there are other means of scoring this delectable treat. The brand carries ice cream in grocery stores across the country, although you’ll have to check online to see if yours is included.
Of course, you can always purchase the $12 pints straight from the Jeni’s website!
