Season 3 of the FX sitcom Baskets, Zach Galifianakis’ vision of a struggling clown, is almost here, and today we’ve got a trailer, which made me laugh heartily several times, and I hope it does the same for you.
While pursuing a career in clowning, Chip Baskets (Galifianakis) has had a tumultuous relationship with his mom Christine (Louie Anderson) and his twin brother Dale (Galifianakis again), but now that Christine has bought the local rodeo, the clowning business is a family affair. Hopefully good vibes can be maintained throughout the new season.
The show’s singularly oddball, yet genuinely sweet charms are on full display in the trailer, with one memorable gag involving Chip noting that a cramped, boxy car “fits 50 clowns.” Also, there are several scenes of clothes getting ripped. I wonder what that’s all about…
