Well, there’s something you don’t hear everyday.

Aaron Hernandez, former start tight end of the Patriots, committed suicide in his jail cell on April 19th.

Hernandez was found by guards in his cell at the Souza-Baranowski Correctional Center in Shirley just after 3 a.m. He was then taken to UMass Memorial-HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster and pronounced dead about an hour later.

Hernandez was still serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for his conviction in the 2013 shooting of Odin Lloyd, who was dating his fiancee’s sister.

Now, more details about the apparent suicide are emerging.

The latest news is that Hernandez is said to have written “John 3:16” on his forehead before killing himself.

The verse says:

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

But wait, there’s more.

Investigators are also looking into the possibility that Hernandez smoked synthetic pot before killing himself:
