It’s a Bird, It’s a Plane, It’s the International Space Station Flying Over the East Coast Tonight

via Travel and Leisure

The International Space Station is going to be making a flyover tonight and residents on the East Coast are in luck. Several cities will be lucky enough to see it including New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Richmond, Charleston, Washington, D.C., Baltimore. And the best part is: no special sunglasses.

The ISS is the world’s largest artificial satellite and is visible to the naked eye. It will be traveling at speeds up to 17,500 miles per hour, so it will only be visible for a short period of time. However it will make an appearance several times until December 13, and for most cities it can be seen directly overhead.

NASA’s Spot the Station will provide updates and information on where and when the ISS can be seen.
