Bradley Whitford Secures Major Role in ‘Handmaid’s Tale’ Season 2

West Wing alumnus Bradley Whitford is joining the cast of The Handmaid’s Tale for season 2.

The actor is in for a major role as he will be taking on the task of playing Commander Joseph Lawrence, the architect of Gilead’s economy. The character is described as having a sly humor and mysterious presence.

The series currently stars Elisabeth Moss as Offred, a handmaid that became pregnant last season. This season the focus will be on the fight to see her baby free of the everything Gilead is to represent.

Whitford’s has been on a roll lately, securing starring roles in two Oscar-nominated films: The Post and Get Out. He will also star in The Destroyer with Nicole Kidman and the next Godzilla movie alongside Millie Bobby Brown.
