You Can Now Role-Play as Drake in This New Video Game

Drake has beef with fellow rappers; Jay-Z, Kendrick Lamar, Pusha T, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, and Meek Mill have all “bumped heads” with the “6 God.”

Now, as you sit and await any “Drake news,” treat yourself to The Legend of Drake: Rise of the 6 God, the 16-bit role-playing game.

Spightly, an independent game developer, has collaborated with the rapper in creating a game in which players take on the role of Drake, progressing through specific events of his career.

Spightly discussed the game to Pigeons and Planes, illuminating that it’s his first game of “this type” he has designed. The Legend of Drake has been in the process of development for over a year and a half – taking 500 hours of work to finalize.

The game developer said:

I chose Drake as the main character not only because I like his music, but because of how polarizing he is in the rap community and the many enemies and friends he has aligned himself with over the years….I feel like rap beefs have been the igniter for some of my favorite songs, so the initial thought for the game came from imagining how great that adversarial energy would work for a video game.

Watch a trailer to the game and experience Drake’s battle-missions and text dialogue stemming from his lyrics:
