Chris Cornell Ended His Final Performance With a Song About Death

Shortly before Chris Cornell’s shocking death, he played his final show in Detroit with his band Soundgarden, and he ended the show on a note that’s now quite chilling in light of his demise.

A regular tradition, the band closed out the show with their own “Slaves and Bulldozers,” but remixed with the Led Zeppelin song “In My Time of Dying.”

Beyond the title, the song’s lyrics concerns death as well, such as “In my time of dying, want nobody to mourn. All I want for you to do is take my body home.” A past clip of the performance (not from last night) can be seen here:

Spooky. Cornell was 52 years old, and his cause of death is currently unknown.
