Deep down we’ve been worried that Wonder Woman would be another undercooked addition to the DCU, but the critics who’ve seen the film are tweeting joyously and NOT ONE has been negative. Critics loved the great chemistry between Gal Gadot and Chris Pine.
“Wonder Woman is the DC movie I’ve been waiting for,” “She reminds me of Christopher Reeve’s Superman,” and “Gal Godot is absolutely phenomenal as #WonderWoman. She KILLS it, just surprisingly good,” are typical of what the critics are tweeting.
#WonderWoman is the ray of light the DCEU has been waiting for. Gal Gadot just owns it.

2. Gal Godot is absolutely phenomenal as #WonderWoman. She KILLS it, just surprisingly good. A truly heroic light DCEU desperately needs.

My reaction to @WonderWomanFilm : exciting, powerful, bold, epic, simply wonderful and – best of all – absolutely empowering.

Not all critics who have been to screenings have tweeted, which some take as a sign that there will be less-than-stellar reviews in the next few days. Mashable thought the transitions weren’t smooth and the villains weren’t as fleshed out as they could be, but they and everyone thought Gadot wrangled the Amazon warrior princess with flying colors and is the DC hero we’ve been waiting for.
You go, girl!
Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2.
