Demi Lovato Took Virginia Rep. Danica Roem to the AMAs and it’s a Moment
Well if that’s not a power move, I don’t know what is.
Democrat Danica Roem, was elected as Virginia’s first transgender law maker on Nov. 7 and Demi Lovato celebrated by bringing her to the 2017 American Music Awards on Sunday.
According to GLAAD, the organization teamed up with the LGBTQ Victory Fund to bring Lovato and Roem together and go to the award shows as part of the Together movement which aims to unite against discrimination.
During the red carpet, Roem said:
“I’m really grateful that Demi has spent her career advocating for people who need a voice when they feel voiceless, that she really understands that no matter what you look like, where you come from, who you worship or who you love, you should be welcomed and celebrated because of who you are, not in spite of it.”
