The AHS Hotel is prime realty, and people are scrambling to grab a room in the renowned establishment.
On Wednesday, executive producer Ryan Murphy announced that American Horror Story: Freak Show star Finn Wittrock had secured a spot in the upcoming American Horror Story season, American Horror Story: Hotel. Then, in an interview with Deadline on Thursday, Murphy revealed that series alum Denis O’Hare has finalized his return to the show.
Murphy has been rather generous with details about the upcoming season, which stands to be completely different from past seasons for one reason: Jessica Lange will not be returning. According to Murphy, Lange’s departure changed the entire tone of the show and provided other actors with more opportunities to shine in larger roles.
“The Wes Bentley part is really big, the Matt Bomer part is really big; Evan Peters and Finn Wittrock are really big,” he said. “That’s not to say that the women aren’t either; I mean Kathy Bates and Gaga and Paulson’s part and Angela Bassetts part are great. But I guess it’s a different tone this year than we’ve had.”
Lady Gaga will apparently play a bizarre role in the upcoming season of AHS, though that shouldn’t come as a surprise to those familiar with the singer’s personality. Murphy did, however, surprise fans with the announcement that stars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters would be playing evil characters this time around.
American Horror Story: Hotel premieres on FX in October. Prepare your bodies.
