Actor Dennis Quaid will be portraying former President George W. Bush in the upcoming season of American Crime Story, which is set to premiere sometime in 2018.
Quaid will be joining a cast that includes other new additions to the show, including Matthew Broderick and Annette Benning. Cuba Gooding, Jr., Courtney B. Vance, and Sarah Paulson – all members of the first season – will be returning for the second season as well.
The upcoming season will largely focus on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrine, whereas the first season focused on the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. The first season received universal acclaim from critics, and went on to win 9 out of the 22 Emmys it was nominated for during the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards in 2016.
This isn’t the first time Quaid has portrayed a U.S. President: he played former President Bill Clinton in the 2010 HBO film The Special Relationship.
