Donald Trump and his administration aren’t having a particularly lucky St. Patrick’s Day. Not only did Paul Ryan get mocked for his pint of Guinness, but Trump himself couldn’t even find a proper Irish Proverb.
Now, his Tweet celebrating the holiday has put him in a bit of hot water.
This morning, the Trumpster put out this tweet:
Happy Lá Fheile Phadraig to all of my great Irish friends!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 17, 2017
It only took minutes for people to point out the hypocrisy in it.
@realDonaldTrump you know St Patrick was an immigrant right?

@realDonaldTrump Your great Irish friends who are likely descended from millions of refugees who came to America fleeing famine & oppression
— Man vs Pink (@ManVsPink) March 17, 2017
@realDonaldTrump You know that All Irish Americans at one point were immigrants too? even though they didn't get here in Slave ships!

Others made a few jokes.
@realDonaldTrump You have friends now?
— Plurnt Parenthood (@JustinCaffier) March 17, 2017
@realDonaldTrump Top of the morning to ya, Donny! Keep your tiny leprechaun hands off Ivanka's lucky charms, ya saucy dawg.
— Kevin (@TheKevinDent) March 17, 2017
@realDonaldTrump "The best pots of gold are made in Trump Tower! I love Irishes!"
— Ben Hooper (@BenHooperWrites) March 17, 2017
And then there was this beautiful response.
BTW, that’s “Kiss my ass” in Gaelic.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
