After 12 clip-fueled laugh-filled years, E! is ending Joel McHale‘s clip show The Soup. No one makes fun of Kim Kardashian and fam like Joel. He’s part of the klan.
The host/comedian has balanced this gig alongside Community and a bunch of other gigs. Anyone remember him as a banker in Spiderman 2? I’m v observant. Look for him in the upcoming X-Files update. The Soup‘s final episode will air December 18. For the month leading up to it, expect some screen time spent on reflecting on the past 1.2 decades.
Joel said in a statement, “I loved doing The Soup for all of these years (86 to be exact) but am excited to solely focus on my acting career now. Thanks to all who watched and thanks to Kim Kardashian’s ass for all that it’s done for me and my family.”
The Soup has actually been around a lot longer than 12 years. Its earlier iteration, Talk Soup, premiered in 1992 with Greg Kinnear as host. For real. I remember my mom watching that shit. Here’s to hoping E realizes they’ve made a terrible mistake. Who care’s if Soup has reached its expiration date.
