Last night, during the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Detroit-born rapper Marshall Mathers, or as we know him – Eminem, released a video of a freestyle rap attack centered around President Donald Trump.
In the new 4 minute and 34 second long video recorded in his parking garage, Eminem, 44, attacked Trump for his behaviors: ignoring tragedies, creating “Twitter storms,” insulting Hillary Clinton, his actions relating to Puerto Rico, and gun reform policies. Eminem referred to the president as “this racist 94-year-old grandpa.”
The rapper has previously been open about his criticism of Trump, releasing a track in 2016 entitled “Campaign Speech.” Within hours of the video’s release, it hit the number one mark for YouTube views. In addition, Eminem tweeted the link to his video – “The Storm,” and received more than 100,000 likes and 70,000 tweets within 6 hours.
In his video, Eminem raps:
We better give Obama props ’cause what we got in office now is a kamikaze that will probably cause a nuclear holocaust while the drama pops, and he waits for s— to quiet down, he’ll just gas his plane up and fly around till the bombing stops.
Eminem references former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick, who knelt during the national anthem at a 2016 preseason game in relation to racial injustice. Kaepernick retweeted the video – adding his own comment:
