‘Flight of the Conchords’ Set for HBO Return

Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement are expected to return to HBO this may in an hour-long comedy special of Flight of the Conchords, HBO president Casey Bloys announced. They will tape in front of a sold-out audience during the United Kingdom tour, with the performances of their classics and new original songs from “Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour.”

The two debuted on HBO back in 2005 during the comedy series One Night Stand, and returned shortly thereafter in 2007. Their show, Flight of the Conchords, earned ten Emmy nominations throughout the duration of a two season run on HBO and their album The Distant Future won Best Comedy Album at the Grammys in 2008.

The upcoming comedy special will be directed by Hamish Hamilton and will have Jermaine Clement, Mike Martinovich, and Bret McKenzie as executive producers.
