Larry Nassar, the former US Olympic Gymnastics team doctor accused of sexually abusing his patients for years, has been sentenced to a 60-year maximum prison sentence for the possession of over 37,000 pornographic images of children on electronic devices, according to The Chicago Sun Times.
The judge in the case ruled that Nassar must serve consecutive state sentences, making him ineligible for any sort of early release. This ruling, however, is only regarding one of the three criminal cases being brought up against Nassar, including sexual assault charges which could result in a life sentence.
In total, Nassar has been accused in criminal and civil cases of sexual assault against 140 different women. In a statement written to Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney, one of Nassar’s many victims, she said,
He abused my trust, he abused my body and he left scars on my psyche that may never go away. He needs to be behind bars so he will never prey upon another child.
Fuck this guy. He deserves this sentence just as much as anybody. Hopefully he gets the shit beaten out of him in prison.
