This ‘Game of Thrones’ Iron King Theory Will Blow Your Mind

Game of Thrones will be ending in two seasons, and it’s still fairly unclear who will take over the throne as the Iron King. Many people assume it will be a major character such as Jon Snow or even Daenarys, but a convincing theory on Reddit has convinced me that it may not be a major character.

So who is the mystery character? Well he’s not that minor of a character; Ser Davos. Because there’s 9000 characters on the show and it’s been almost a year since last season, here’s a picture to refresh your memory:

Yeah, that dude. It may sound far-fetched, but Reddit user “FollowTheBeard” lists numerous examples of Ser Davos fulfilling certain aspects of the prophecy. For example, in Season Two, he picks up the Lightbringer sword that is mentioned in the Azor Ahai prophecy.

It gets better. During the battle of Blackwater towards the end of season two, Davos is thought to have died, but he gets reborn by smoke and salt, like the prophecy states.

And to cap it off, Davos is the one who revives Jon Snow, not Melisandre. Don’t believe me? Read this last post.

This is fucking crazy. It would be a total Game of Thrones-like move to have someone who isn’t a main character take the Iron Throne.

The whole Reddit post can be read here. The new season of Game of Thrones premieres on July 16th, 2017.
