There may only be two seasons left of the HBO series Game of Thrones, but that doesn’t mean the world of Westeros has to come to an end. According to creator George R. R. Martin, a prequel is a very real possibility.
“I do have thousands of pages of fake history of everything that led up to Game of Thrones,” he told reporters in an interview backstage at Sunday night’s Emmys. “So there’s a wealth of material there and I’m still writing more.”
Of course, as fans of Martin’s work know, this is just one more project in his massive “to do” list. Again, it’s a possibility, but not a priority, so don’t get your hopes up just yet.
“At the moment we still have this show to finish and I still have two books to finish, so that’s all speculation,” Martin said.
