Fucking Harvey Weinstein. He’s dug quite the hole for himself.
Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie are the latest women to accuse disgraced Hollywood exec, Harvey Weinstein, of sexual harassment.
Paltrow revealed to The New York Times that at 22, Weinstein called her into his hotel room right after she was cast in Emma. They were speaking for a while when eventually, Weinstein started “placing his hands on her and suggesting they head to the bedroom for massages.”
“I was a kid, I was signed up, I was petrified.”
Paltrow refused and confided in her boyfriend at the time, Brad Pitt. Pitt confronted Weinstein, then Weinstein threatened her not to tell anyone else. Paltrow said, “I thought he was going to fire me.”
Paltrow said, at the time, she thought to herself: “I thought you were my Uncle Harvey,” explaining that she thought of him as a mentor.
Angelina Jolie told the Times that Weinstein harassed her in a hotel room in the late 1990s.
Jolie said in an email:
“I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did. This behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.”
Paltrow and Jolie join a long list of women accusing Weinstein of harassment, including Ashley Judd and Rose McGowan.
