Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer is confident that he will win the case
Currently, Harvey Weinstein has been charged with sexually assaulting two women.
However, according to sources, Manhattan prosecutors are talking to all the women who have come forward and spoken about sexual harassment and assault inflicted by Weinstein.
Sources also said that they want the women’s testimony for jury proceeding and later for trial. One of them said, “They’d like all these people to be allowed to testify like Cosby, although, ultimately, that would be up to a judge.”
Ben Brafman, Weinstein’s lawyer commented on the strategy saying that it will never work.
He also added that the charges against Weinstein include an anonymous woman who was apparently in a long-time affair with the producer.
Brafman said, “a truly crazy allegation of forcible rape, made by a woman who we have identified, with whom Mr. Weinstein enjoyed a 10-year ‘consensual’ sexual relationship that continued for years, both before and even ‘after’ the date of the alleged forcible encounter.”
Weinstein claims that he is innocent and never committed any crime.
On Friday, Weinstein turned himself in but is out now on a $1 million bail and if convicted, would go to jail for 25 years.
