In The Little Hours, a riff on Boccaccio’s Decameron, Dave Franco seeks solace in a convent, but things do not go exactly as he hoped when the residents turn out to be a bunch of naughty nuns. Naturally the the sisters are played by Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, and Kate Micucci. Fred Armisen is a man of the cloth struggling to keep them in line.
Those are plenty of famous funny people (John C. Reilly, Molly Shannon, Nick Offerman, and Adam Pally also make appearances), but I’m worried that this premise is better suited to a sketch instead of a full-blown feature. Still, there’s no way I’m not going to give this one a look.
The director is Jeff Baena, who previously worked with Plaza on the undead comedy Life After Beth. The release date is June 30. Watch the trailer below.
