J.K. Rowling Releases Second Installment of ‘The History of Magic in North America’

J.K. Rowling made American fans less salty about not being able to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in London by releasing the second part of the American version of Harry Potter on Pottermore today. It is titled after the school itself: Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, which was established by a descendant of Hogwarts co-founder Salazar Slytherin who came to North America on the Mayflower. The school prided itself to be the least pretentious wizarding school in existence, but is now known for its mysterious and dark history.

Similar to Hogwarts, Ilvermorny also has four houses, called Horned Serpent, Pukwudgie, Thunderbird, and Wampus. Pottermore now offers a sorting quiz for all users into the new houses. The school is expected to be featured in the newest J.K. Rowling film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is being released in theaters this upcoming November. At least you can read some new material while you wait for the movie.
