James Corden Took His Method Acting for ‘Peter Rabbit’ Too Far

For his role as Peter Rabbit, James Corden decided to follow in the footsteps of all the greatest Method actors, such as Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, and Daniel Day-Lewis.

On last night’s Late Late Show, the host explained his process of becoming Peter. His Method acting led him to having reconstructive surgery and eating a diet of strictly lettuce, carrots, and tree bark. After a while, Corden became a bunny suit-wearing Peter Rabbit-humanoid.

Corden’s costars, Margot Robbie and Domhnall Gleeson, joined in on the segment, as they became more concerned and annoyed by his behavior on set. Gleeson finally lost it, prompting Corden to realize he isn’t a rabbit, resulting in a meltdown, which Robbie wasn’t surprised about: “I mean, when you exist solely on a diet of carrots, lettuce, and tree bark for six months, eventually you’re gonna break.”

Peter Rabbit comes out in theaters this Friday, February 9. Check out our review, and watch the Method madness below:
