On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, John Oliver stopped by to show off his new plaque. One that shows his accomplishment: being inducted into the “Donald Trump attacked me on Twitter” hall of fame.
Seen above, Oliver screenshotted Trump’s tweet regarding Oliver back in 2015, and put it on a plaque. The tweet reads:
.@thehill John Oliver had his people call to ask me to be on his very boring and low rated show. I said "NO THANKS" Waste of time & energy!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 31, 2015
Oliver comically confirmed the latter parts of the tweet, that it was boring and a waste of time and energy. But he denied the most minute detail of the tweet, the part where Trump says Oliver’s people contacted him.
Oliver went around to every one of his employees and asked if they had reached out to Trump in even the slightest form possible. They all said no. No one in all of John Oliver’s staff had ever reached out to Trump.
Then, Oliver said what we were all thinking:
“What kind of moron would lie about something this pathetic?”
The President of the United States. That’s who.
