Katy Perry and Taylor Swift make peace
Taylor Swift and Katy Perry have been in a war since 2013. But recently, Perry decided to end the feud by extending an olive branch to her enemy – where she sent Swift an actual olive branch with an apology note.
Taylor posted a video on Instagram that showed the gift sent to her by Perry. The note could somewhat be read, Perry said: “I’ve been doing some reflecting on past miscommunication and hurt feelings between us.” Swift thanked Katy and said, “So I just got to my dressing room and found this actual olive branch. This means so much to me.”
The dispute between Swift and Perry started after the latter stole some dancers from Taylor’s Red tour for her own Prismatic tour.
The war encouraged Swift to write one of her biggest hits, Bad Blood, which she said was about someone who “basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour”. Katy did not stay silent and responded to that by posting on Twitter, “Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing.”
Perry talked about the incident in detail in a 2017 interview with James Corden, saying “I tried to talk to her about it and she wouldn’t speak to me. She started it, and its time for her to finish it.”
Perry also said, “I forgive [Swift], and I’m sorry for anything I ever did, and I hope the same from her,” when Swift released her back catalogue on Spotify the same day as Katy released her new album.
