They’ve gone and done it again. Lay’s scoured the country for recommendations for a new potato chip flavor. Three flavors were released and voted on, and the people have spoken.
Behold: your new Lay’s potato chip is Crispy Taco.
The suggestion came from Ellen Sarem of San Antonio, Texas. Tacos were the first meal she ever cooked for the man who would become her fiancé. Now her cherished memory of young love and all the feelings associated with it are available to you, the discriminating consumer, in chip form.
“You can taste the crunch of the taco shell, the spiciness of the beef, the sharpness of the cheddar, even the freshness of the lettuce, it’s amazing,” she said.
That does sound delicious.
The other flavors Lay’s experimented with were Everything Bagel and Fried Green Tomatoes. These options were soundly rejected by Lay’s faithful followers and have been cast into the Rejected Flavors Hall of Shame.
Previous Lay’s “Do Us A Flavor” contests have yielded results like Southern Bicuits and Gravy and Cheesy Garlic Bread.
Now you can have all the fun and flavor of Taco Night alone, in your pajamas, stoned and watching television at 2:30 in the morning.
