Good news for Lyft users: the car service will be expanding their commuter benefits program to all US cities via the carpool section on the app. Customers who uses the Lyft line via the app to get to and from work will now be able to save up to 40% with pre-tax money when they use the employee benefits programs.
The commuter benefits plan was released in 2017 in New York, Boston, Seattle, and Miami, and clearly worked well enough to expand outside those major cities and out into the rest of the US. Workers who use WageWorks, TransitChek, Benefit Resource, Commuter Benefit Solutions, Navia, Zenefits, Ameriflex, and EBPA will be able to get a decrease fare too.
Even though Lyft Line and UberPool are popular among riders, a survey dictated that 56.6% of drivers can’t stand UberPool.
Lyft and Uber are always trying to one up each other or be on the same playing field, so it will be interesting to see what Uber will do to counter Lyft’s latest improvements.
