Meryl might have more to deal with than President Tiny Hands after her epic Golden Globes speech.
Last night Meryl Streep gave the president-elect a piece of her mind while accepting the Cecil B. Demille Award for lifetime achievement at the Golden Globes. And while her speech eloquently expressed her views on the president, the press, and the arts, it also called out mixed martial arts, saying
“Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners,” she said. “If you kick ’em all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”
It seems not everyone took kindly to that remark, including Scott Coker, president of Bellator MMA. He took to twitter this morning in response and invited Meryl to attend an MMA event on January 21st.

And no, he’s not inviting Meryl TO FIGHT, he’s inviting her to A fight. Yes, I misread that at first too.
Granted, I personally am a football fan and can tell you that football is also an art. I mean, check out this catch by Paul Richardson.
Is @prich10 for real?!
No regard for the defender.

That’s pure artistry right there.
In any case, I’m sure Meryl meant no disrespect to football and MMA fans. She’s such a classy lady, I wouldn’t be surprised if she showed up to the January 21st match in Los Angeles greased down and ready to throw punches.
In case you missed the speech heard around the golden globe, check it out here for yourself.
