Map of the Most Popular Halloween Candy by State Causes Controversy

A map that shows the country’s favorite Halloween candies by state has started a debate on Twitter over candy-superiority. The information was gathered via a poll in 2015, which surveyed more than 42,000 people nationwide right before Halloween.

For some, the results are scary:

Perhaps most notable is that West Virginia chose “Oreos,” which we all know are cookies, not candy. Were the instructions unclear?

Candy corn proved the big winner in the survey. It was “candy of choice” in the most states, though Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups received the most votes nationwide—as they well should.

Forget the current political situation, this may be what sparked the next civil war.
