If there’s any game that gives players an excuse to give each other obscene gestures after a few rounds, it’s Mario Kart. You don’t play Mario Kart to make friends. You play to win.
So, when Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came out and had one of the Inkling Girl’s gestures for taking down the competition had her hand grabs her bicep kind of like the way Europeans say “Up Yours,” it actually fit pretty well with the mood of the game.

But, worried that it may be seen as rude or offensive to some players, Nintendo recently patched out the gesture. in the latest version of the game.
Heh, looks like Nintendo removed this gesture from Mario Kart… https://t.co/ZeYf5m9n0R

The original gesture where the Inkling Girl had her hand flat on her arm is called the bras d'honoure. In Europe, it means "up yours".
