Did you know that if you move into an old, abandoned house that it might be haunted? In Marrowbone, this wildly creative concept is brought out once again. The Marrowbone children (what kind of name is that, honestly?) are hiding the death of their mother in order to stay together. They move into an old, isolated manor separated from the rest of town.
A young woman, Allie (Anya Taylor-Joy), ends up taking an interest in the Marrowbone clan (Charlie Heaton, Mia Goth, Matthew Stagg, George MacKay), insisting that there’s nothing weird going on with them.
In terms of the siblings themselves, there probably isn’t. But something sinister seems to be after them, from weird sequences of running away to creepy doll replicas of the brothers and sisters. It definitely looks creepy, I’m just not convinced it’ll be original. Unless director Sergio G. Sánchez has a pretty significant twist in mind, that is.
The trailer just gives off the vibe of some pretty standard horror fare. Charlie Heaton looks hotter than he does in Stranger Things, though, so there’s that.
Marrowbone will be in theaters, On Demand, on Amazon Video, and on iTunes April 13th.
