If you’ve ever ventured out for a late-night Mcflurry only to be told that the machine is down and leave disappointed, you’re not alone. This has been an ongoing issue for McDonald’s — but not for long.

According to The Wall Street Journal, McDonald’s is installing new ice cream machines in both the U.S. and Europe. While it isn’t clear when the transition will take place, here are some things we do know. “The reasons for the original machine’s issues were varied, but were mostly attributed to the fact that the machines took so long to clean. Therefore, employees would start the process way too early, thus denying us of late-night sweets,” explains Delish. “The new machines have been touted as being much easier to maintain, with less parts to disassemble.”

Better yet: the new machines, which are made by an Italian company called Carpigiani, will reportedly be able to dispense more flavors.
