Nobody likes the MTA. Living in Queens for over two decades, I have never heard someone speak about a positive experience on the subway or bus. Taking the MTA is a hassle when it should be an easy mode of transportation. However, New Yorkers have learned how to deal with the MTA even though it hasn’t been fun.
In order to appeal to the masses, the MTA has announced they will be including “gender inclusive” announcements for New York subways. Instead of addressing passengers with “ladies and gentlemen,” the announcements will have terms like “everyone,” “riders,” and “passengers.”
A spokesman for the MTA Jon Weinstein, told Pix11, “We’re fundamentally changing the way we talk with riders to give them better and clearer information.”
So instead of focusing on actual, physical change like construction and delays, the MTA is working on their WORDING.
Don’t they know actions speak louder than words?
