As much as President Trump would like to be “the star politician,” of social media he lies behind the likes of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi. He has amassed a whopping 37.5 million followers, making him the most followed head of state in the world.
How did he acquire such a mass following?
The Prime Minister tweets nearly every day, often sending out multiple in the same day. It also helps that India has a much larger smartphone market than the U.S., believe it or not.
Modi’s also got over 42 million followers on Facebook and 10.4 million followers on Instagram, where he posts pictures and often makes attempts at humor.
This is the prime example of the modern day politician using social media in a positive regard, as well as the modern day way of making it into political office.
