It’s time! Today’s Apple Event is just about to start, and we’ll be giving you all the latest information right here!

Apple Park:

  • Apple’s new campus.
  • Steve Jobs is the “most state of the art” theater yet.
  • Apple Park is designed to be seamless with nature, “Bring the outside, in”
  • Powered by 100% renewable energy.
  • Augmented reality experience open to everyone later this year as well as a new retail store.

Retail:

  • They call stores “Town Squares” because they’re gathering spaces.
  • New store design including a creative space and a “board room” for local app developers.
  • “Today at Apple” are local events designed to teach users new skills, such as photography and coding.
  • They’re transforming the stories in major cities, including New York, France, and Milan.

Apple Watch: 

  • Apple Watch grew over 50% compared to the previous year.
  • The Apple Watch is now the #1 watch in the world.
  • Changes are coming to the heart rate app, including resting heart rate and recovery rate.
  • Apple watch will notify you when you have an elevated heart rate when you don’t appear to be active.
  • Apple Heart Study: use data from Apple watch to notify if you have a heart condition that might go unnoticed.
  • WatchOS 4 will be available on September 19th.
  • Apple Watch Series 3: will have cellular built in!
  • The number will be the same number as your iPhone.
  • The location for “Find My Friend” switch to your watch when you’re away from your phone.
  • You will be able to stream music on the watch as well! 40 million tracks available to stream!
  • Siri can talk on the watch.
  • The Series 3 is the same size as the last watch, despite the new features.
  • Up to 18 hours of battery.
  • Apple will sell a version without cellular.
  • Both versions will be out September 22nd, with pre-orders starting the 15th.

Apple TV: 

  • Apple TV 4K!
  • Four times the number of pixels than HD.
  • The tv will also have HDR. “Highest picture quality ever.”
  • 4K movies will be the same price as HD. Apple will upgrade existing movies in your library for no additional charge.
  • Apple TV app will be available in 7 more countries by the end of the year, including local services.
  • Live Sports coming to the app, including live scores.
  • You can now share photos and play music on the Apple TV
  • You can start ordering it on September 15th!

iPhone 8:

  • iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
  • Comes in silver, space gray and gold.
  • Will have a glass back. The glass is most durable ever in a smartphone.
  • Water and dust resistant.
  • 12MP sensor on the camera, provides more light, and has a new color filter.
  • Two new sensors in the dual camera in the iPhone 8 Plus.
  • Sharper details in portrait mode.
  • Portrait Lighting: beta but comes with the iPhone 8. Fixes the lighting as you’re taking the shot in real time, not filters.
  •  iPhone 8 is the highest quality video capture ever in a smartphone.
  • 1080p 240 fps slowmo videos.
  • First smartphone designed for Augmented Reality.
  • Example: MLB app you can use over a game in real time to display stats.
  • Wireless charging!!!!!!!
  • Charge “without having to plug in a cable again.”
  • Will work with Qi wireless charging.
  • Starts at 64 GB.
  • Will cost $699, with the plus at $799.
  • You can preorder them on Friday, and will be available the week later.
  • iOS 11 will be available on the 19th.

iPhone X: 

  • AKA the iPhone 10
  • This is the 10th anniversary iPhone that’s been rumored for months.
  • All screen, edge to edge, and no home button.
  • A glass back, like the iPhone 8.
  • Will come in space gray and silver.
  • All new retina display: Super Retina Display.
  • HDR display.
  • 3D touch technology right into the display.
  • Raise to wake, but also you can tap on the screen.
  • Home screen is a swipe up from the bottom, thanks to lack of home button. This includes getting out of apps and multitasking.
  • The side button will now activate Siri.
  • The iPhone 8 will lock until you look at it and it recognizes you, even in the dark: Face ID.
  • The phone will create a mathematical model of your face to recognize you.
  • “Face ID learns your face” no matter how your face changes (ie: glasses, beard).
  • Trained the neural networks not to be tricked by photographs or masks.
  • Face ID makes it a one in a million chance that another random person can unlock your phone.
  • Can be used to pay and other third party apps.
  • Animoji: animated emojis that you control with your face.
  • Can be controlled in Messages. Also includes audio, as well and the poop and unicorn emoji.
  • Swipe down for the control center.
  • Apple has been working with Snapchat for AR face tracking.
  • 12 MP cameras
  • Dual optical image stabilization.
  • Quad LED two tone flash.
  • The front camera will have portrait mode and portrait lighting, so selfies will be bomb AF.
  • The battery life will be two more hours than the iPhone 7.
  • Will also have wireless charging through Qi.
  • Upcoming Apple charging matt will fit multiple devices, including Apple Watch and AirPods: AirPower- will come out sometime next year.
  • Starts at 64GB.
  • Price starts at $999. Will be available November 3rd, with pre-order in late October.
