There were speculations that Dylan O’Brien might not appear in the newest season of Teen Wolf due to his injuries sustained during production of Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Luckily, it’s been reported that O’Brien will be a crucial part of season six and we don’t have to say goodbye to Stiles just yet.
Teen Wolf showrunner Jeff Davis explains to Entertainment Weekly: “Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season’s mystery revolves around him. We’re going to see just what Stiles’ friendship means to Scott, Lydia, and Malia. We’re going to see why exactly he’s Scott’s best friend, what it means that he’s Malia’s human anchor, and what his will-they-or-won’t-they relationship is with Lydia.”
You can see a sneak preview photo of the first episode of season six below, and make sure you take note of the brace on O’Brien’s hand. Davis claims that the photo was taken before O’Brien left to film the third movie in the Maze Runner series, and the brace was caused by a separate injury. The injury was written into the script, which you will discover in the first episode.
