Someone needs to sit Trump down and explain to him that he’s actually the President of the United States. Meaning, he can’t go around and say whatever the fuck he wants. Maybe he’s trying to get impeached? Is that the plan? He hates being President anyway, so it would make sense …
Anyway, the UN (and the world, really) is up in arms after Trump supposedly referred to Africa, Haiti, and their surrounding nations as shit-hole countries, and described the immigrants coming from there as such.
According to the Washington Post, Trump said:
“Why are we having all these people from shithole countries come here?”
Trump’s comment was in response to a proposal to keep DACA and immigrants from El Salvador, Haiti and certain African nations as part of a bipartisan immigration deal.
The best part is that the White House didn’t deny the statement, instead, they just said that Trump was a strong stance on immigration.
UN human rights spokesman, Rupert Colville, said,
“There is no other word one can use but racist. You cannot dismiss entire countries and continents as ‘shitholes’, whose entire populations, who are not white, are therefore not welcome.”
On Friday morning, Trump tweeted that he was harsh, but it’s not EXACTLY the language he used:
The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. What was really tough was the outlandish proposal made – a big setback for DACA!
