Papa John’s has made headlines recently for being against the NFL player protests and saying that it’s hurting their business. But hey, now they’re saying that they don’t want business from racist customers so they’re totally not racist, right?
In a Monday statement to The Louisville Courtier Journal, Papa John’s public relations representative Peter Collins said, “We condemn racism in all forms and any and all hate groups that support it. We do not want these individuals or groups to buy our pizza.”
Papa John’s is a sponsor of the NFL, and they blame part of their poor recent sales on the fact that some fans have protested the league due to the #TakeAKnee movement. The company’s CEO John Schnatter said, “The NFL has hurt us. We are disappointed the NFL and its leadership did not resolve this.”
In response to that statement, the alt-right dickheads of the internet dubbed Papa John’s “the official pizza of the alt-right” via White Supremacist website The Daily Stormer, on which they posted a picture of a pizza with slices of pepperoni in the shape of a swastika.

The alt-right also tried to start a boycott of Pizza Hut after they interpreted Pizza Hut’s CEO’s statement about the NFL protests not hurting sales as a form of supporting the protests.

So yeah, it took a bunch of racists supporting Papa John’s statement for the company to go back on it. I honestly don’t care because their pizza sucks anyway.
