Guillermo del Toro’s romance fantasy thriller The Shape of Water won top honors at the 29th annual Producers Guild of America Awards over the weekend, as del Toro and J. Miles Dale received the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures.

This might just make Shape of Water the frontrunner for Oscar’s Best Picture, as the PGA winner has matched up with the Academy 8 of the last 10 years. Although, the two years when they differed were the last two, when PGA went with The Big Short instead of Spotlight and La La Land instead of Moonlight. So don’t despair too much, Three BillboardsGet OutLady Bird, and Dunkirk.

Over on the TV side, The Handmaid’s Tale and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel followed up their winning ways at the Golden Globes and the Critics’ Choice Awards as they were named the best Drama and Comedy productions, respectively.
