What it Really Means to Move on From Love

Love is bitch, right? Getting over love is probably one of the hardest things you can do. It takes a long, long time to get over. Sometimes people say it takes half of the time that you were actually in the relationship to get over the relationship. Honestly, I call bullshit on that.

There’s no specific amount of time that it takes to move on from love. It simply happens when it happens. Sometimes it takes forever, other times, you move on fairly quickly. But in any case, it’s still a struggle. You learn a lot, you go through a lot, you endure a lot. Thankfully, at the end of the day, you come out of it a better person.

So, what does it really mean to move on from love?

You’re not crying like a psycho anymore

Congratulations, you’ve finally stopped crying. Listen, losing love can be one of the most traumatic experiences of your life. So, I don’t really care how strong or tough you think you are, you’re probably going to sit on your couch balling your eyes out for quite some time. It’s totally normal, don’t think you’re weird. Thankfully, once you’ve stop crying, you can kind of assume that you’re getting over things. You’re slightly moving past losing love and you’re looking towards the rest of your life. Breathe a sigh of relief, it’s finally coming to an end.

You can imagine going out again

When you lose love, you’re kind of no interested in going out. You say no to dinner quite often, you don’t want to go to a bar or a club. You more or less become a hermit. That’s okay. Again, it’s totally normal to want to be by yourself. However, when you start to imagine yourself going out and having fun again, it’s the first sign that you’re moving forward. You’re finally moving on with your life and you want to go out and enjoy it.

Sex isn’t a foreign concept anymore

I’ll be the first person to tell you that the best sex you’ll ever have is the sex that you have when you’re in love. You’re just more in tune with the other person than you ever thought possible. So obviously, when you lose that love, you don’t really picture having sex with anyone else. You don’t really want to get too close to anyone. You don’t want to be vulnerable. After a while, though, you’ll start to flirt with the idea of being with other people. Once that happens, you might actually be ready to move on.

You’re interested

You’re interested in going out with your friends. You’re interested in dating again. You’re interested in having sex with someone new. You’re just interested in moving on with your life. When you first lose love, it’s hard to picture your life without it. You kind of don’t know how to function. However, when you finally decide to move on, what it really means is that you want to start living your life again. You see a future for yourself past the person you were with.

You feel alive again

Cheers to life! Amirite? When you finally start to move on from love, you feel alive again. You regain the confidence that you lost when you lost love and you start to remember what it was life before it. You have an appreciation for the way your life is now. You want to make the most out of your life because you realize that you yourself, can be complete.
