The year is 1998. Beanie babies are flourishing. Fast food places are still filled with brightly colored plastic. It’s a Saturday, and you’re going to the movie with family. The film? Eddie Murphy’s comedy, Dr. Dolittle.
And now, 20 years later, we’re getting a reboot, because ’tis the season. The cast is as spangled with stars as a banner. The part of Dolittle himself will be portrayed by Robert Downey Jr., who’s role in Sherlock Holmes makes me confident he will do well here.
Here’s everyone else starring as well:

This version is sure to show a little more about his past, and is titled The Voyage of Dr. Dolittle. The title is the same as the sequel to the original book, and had a slightly more mature target audience, so we’ll have to see if that holds true. but we won’t find out until April of 2019.
