Roger Goodell Has Signed a $200 Million Contract Extension and NFL Players Aren’t Exactly Happy About It

It appears that the controversial saga surrounding NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s contract extension is approaching a close, with Goodell inking a 5-year contract worth up to $200 million (sorry, Jerry Jones). As the news broke, NFL players from around the league took to Twitter to voice their opinions on Goodell’s lucrative future as commissioner.

Needless to say, with Goodell, team owners, and players seemingly at each other’s throats throughout this entire season, not everyone was thrilled.

The extension comes at a particularly contentious point in the season, as the NFL handed out a bunch of suspensions to various players for violating rules during Week 13 games. One of those players, Steelers wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster (who has a fantastic Twitter presence in general), reacted basically by saying, “Fuck you and your suspensions,” albeit with a bit more restraint.

Side note: Smith-Schuster totally deserved a suspension due to his dirty block on Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict and the taunt that followed.
