Little kids no longer have to live in darkness. Thanks to the efforts of Olafur Eliasson, children in places with no electricity will have access through little lanterns.
As shown in the video above, each lantern is shaped like a sunflower, and fittingly, gets its power from the sun. The solar panel will handle all the work just as long as the kids bring the little sunflowers outside. This man could win a tremendous awards for his feat, but it’s bigger than that. Helping children gain resources we take for granted like electricity can bring a smile to anyone’s face.
The Icelandic-Danish artist began this project in 2012, which has been impacting communities ever since.
