The Netflix hit Stranger Things will be back this summer and, according to the series’ creators – Matt and Ross Duffer – some fan theories about the direction of the show are surprisingly accurate. At the end of August, Netflix released a teaser trailer for the second season, which just shows the titles of the episodes.
“Even if they aren’t the final chapter titles, everything in that teaser is major,” said Matt Duffer in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter. “But they’re ambiguous enough that no one is going to be able to figure it out. Some of the fan theories online are amazing. Most are wrong, but I’ve read a few that are right or very close. Is it Reddit? Some of those people have figured stuff out based off of the chapter titles.”
“Some of these theories are elaborate and smart,” added Ross. “They’re not crap. I love reading this stuff.”
However, the two aren’t actually on Reddit themselves searching through fan theories. “No, people send us the stuff,” said Ross. “I know I would never get out if I went in there.”
