The NFL and its fans really fucking hate Colin Kaepernick for proving that racism is alive and well.

If you’ve somehow have no clue who he is or why he’s the most hated amongst a sport of wife beaters and drug abusers, here’s a quick recap:

  • Colin Kaepernick was a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers.
  • During one of their first games against Green Bay last season, Kaepernick refused to stand for the national anthem.
  • His reasoning?  “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an  interview after the game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

Throughout the year, he continued this protest by either sitting or kneeling during the anthem. There were no riots and no NFL property was harmed. He created a movement by doing literally nothing.

But, since the NFL is run by Donald Trump-like bigwigs, acknowledging racism exists in a post-Obama world is a crime worthy of ruining your career.

Now that the season’s over, Kaepernick is looking for a new team to join, but even though it’s a week into free agency, he hasn’t heard back from any teams.

Why? Well, Mike Freeman of Bleacher Report spoke to an NFL GM, and according to them, it’s mostly because of the kneeling.

“He can still play at a high level,” one AFC general manager said. “The problem is three things are happening with him. First, some teams genuinely believe that he can’t play. They think he’s shot. I’d put that number around 20 percent.”

“Second, some teams fear the backlash from fans after getting him. They think there might be protests or [President Donald] Trump will tweet about the team. I’d say that number is around 10 percent. Then there’s another 10 percent that has a mix of those feelings.

“Third, the rest genuinely hate him and can’t stand what he did [kneeling for the national anthem]. They want nothing to do with him. They won’t move on. They think showing no interest is a form of punishment. I think some teams also want to use Kaepernick as a cautionary tale to stop other players in the future from doing what he did.”

Though it is true that his performance has not been stellar these past few months, it’s telling that GMs mostly hate him due to his political stance.

This isn’t the first time executives claimed they hated the guy. According to Bleacher Report, back in August:

”In my career, I have never seen a guy so hated by front office guys as Kaepernick,” one general manager said. This is a league that has signed domestic abusers, accused murderers, players who killed another person while driving drunk and dudes who park in handicap spaces. But, Kaepernick is the most hated person he’s ever seen? A non-violent protest? Really? Yes, apparently, really.

So, what is Kaepernick doing while he’s in NFL limo? He helped bring aid to those in Somalia who are experiencing a historic famine.

If thats not telling, I don’t know what is.
